Amy C. Torres Appointed Federal Bar Council First Decade Committee Co-Chair

The Federal Bar Council is pleased to announce the appointment of Amy C. Torres of Binder &
Schwartz LLP as the new Co-Chair of our First Decade Committee.

The First Decade Committee is dedicated to supporting and advancing the careers of lawyers in their first ten years of practice through a wide range of events, including brown bag lunches with judges and master practitioners, social networking events, training and community service programs. The First Decade Committee, in conjunction with our Second Circuit Courts Committee, also spearheads our annual Fall Retreat for judges and lawyers. The Committee is a powerful avenue for young lawyers to cultivate mentors and allies outside their immediate workplace and to become further involved in all the Federal Bar Council has to offer.

Amy has been an important contributor to the First Decade Committee since joining, including by
serving as Co-Chair of our 2025 Fall Retreat. She began her career serving two judicial clerkships,
first to Southern District Judge Paul Crotty and then to Second Circuit Judge Denny Chin. She
graduated Fordham Law School, magna cum laude, where she was a member of the Fordham Law Review and Order of the Coif. She also previously practiced at Sullivan & Cromwell. Her practice focuses on complex commercial litigation as well as internal and government investigations by various state and federal prosecutors and regulators.

Amy joins Joshua Bussen, of Morvillo Abramowitz Grand Iason & Anello PC, who will continue to
serve as First Decade Committee Co-Chair. They are already hard at work planning our 2026 Fall
Retreat in Saratoga Springs, October 16-18, and eager to support other First Decade Committee
programming proposals.

Federal Bar Council President, Shawn Patrick Regan, remarked, “Amy is the ideal person to fill the big shoes of outgoing co-chair Brachah Goykadosh, who we thank immensely for her years of service and impactful leadership of the Committee prior to recently joining the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York. Brachah has left the First Decade Committee stronger and better than when she became Co-Chair. We all look forward to supporting Amy and Joshua in further cultivating this vibrant community to support the administration of justice and the develop the next generation of extraordinary lawyers in the Second Circuit.”
